Asset Management Software

March 2018: Bridges 2018 – round up from Laura

A great time was had by all at the annual Bridges event in Coventry last week. The highest number of delegates from the Bridge Engineering industry  meant the atmosphere was buzzing throughout the day.

This was my first foray to the event in my role as Marketing Manager and just to add to the excitement I was asked to present our innovation to the conference after the morning break. The section took the format of a Pecha Kucha – 11 submissions of a short and simple 2½ minute presentation with only 8 supporting slides from key subjects all covering innovation within the Bridge Industry - you can read all the submissions at the conference website.

The piece regarding customisable software was well received by the audience and led to some great feedback on the stand as the day progressed. There were event a few people who didn't realise that AMX was an upgraded version of the well-known BMX. I certainly hope that both the format and the subject of innovation will be included again next year.

Another highlight of the day was sharing our space with colleagues from Sheffield Hallam University, who’s Bridge Inspection training is currently being adopted by our clients in Qatar using AMX Mobile. It was insightful to learn about challenges they’ve overcome there and to see that training was still in high demand by a number of delegates.

The show provided a great opportunity for me to meet a number of our clients and also see the wider scope of sectors that Bridges feature in as well as other service providers for potential collaborations – the half million pound Drone on the stand next door was certainly a draw for many!

A big thank you goes to everyone that came to say hello and also to the organisers (Bridge Design & Engineering, Transport Network, BOF and ADEPTLA) for a smooth-running and positive event – we look forward to seeing you again next year!
